Hi all ,
I am testing File System Archiving on Windows File Server (windows server 2008 r2 )
When an item ( video file , document file etc...) archivied , a red X appears on file. I think it means that that item is archived.
My question is :
Is there a way to change the archived item icon ( red X ) ? The X sign does not look well .
Thank you.

ust to be clear here, the icon is displayed by the operating system. It is not something that Symantec controls. We set the Offline 'O' attribute, Windows sees that and changes the icon accordingly. MS went from the clock symbol in XP to the cross in Vista and Windows 7 or windows 2008 . Symantec cannot change this icon.

You can't change it AFAIK, but you can remove it:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Expl
orer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers\Offline Files
Probably not a good idea to do this though.
