Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 CH5 Mailbox Sync Issues. Here We Go Again

Mike_Reed
Level 4

Here we go again. I have about 15 Exchange Users mailboxes that are not able to Sync all of a sudden. Also when I try to Sync the Journal Mail box it comes back with Event ID 3188 and 3196. I have followed the article below and I'm still seeing the issue. Its only on one of our Exchange Servers that has 579 mailboxes. Out of the 579 mailboxes there are 15 that will not sync on this specific Exchange Server. Doenst make sense why only 15 out of 579. I added a MS Word with some screeshots.

Lets see if we can get this last problem resolved. We are going to EV 12.4 in June. I cannot wait to get off EV11 CH5 :)

Hey Patrick,

Correct. What I had to do is clear the A7 Queue and I had our Exchange Admin migrate all of the mailboxes on that Exchange Server to another Exchange Server we have 4 of them that we archive from. Then I had him migrate them back to EMS10MBX04. Once this was done I ran another ProvisionTask and ran a Manual Sync and all of the mailboxes synced successfully and the error was cleared. What a mess.

What I didnt mention is that they have a vendor as we speak migrating all of our Exchange Mailboxes to Office365 into the Azure Cloud. They are moving away from Enterprise Vault Exchange Archiving so I'm sure there will be more issues to come.

Thanks for the help :)

Hi Mike_Reed,

Probably need a Dtrace of the following processes: AgentClientBroker, EvExchangePolicySyncTask to see what is ocurring. The return code is different from the article that you mentioned.

Regards,

Patrick

Patrick,

I will give that a try.

Thanks

Hey Patrick,

I didnt see anything in the Dtrtace for the AgentBroker but the EVExchangePolicySyncTask gave me this error. I just ran a sync for one mailbox user that was failing to sync. Here is the error from the Dtrace.

Event ID: 3196 An error has occurred whilst synchronizing the properties of mailbox /o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=C19LAA on Exchange server EMS10MBX04. |Error: <0x8004010f> |Internal: (null) |For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://entced.symantec.com/entt?product=ev&language=english&version=11.0.1.0&build=11.0.1.3706&error...

I have attached both of the Dtraces.

Hi,

This looks a lot like https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/article.100011727.html (see below).  Basically it cannot open the mailbox.  Are you able to open that mailbox from Outlook on the EV server?

Hello Mike, Out of curiosity, migrating mailboxes with or without archives exported back into mailbox? I'm migrating 10000's of archives back to on-prem mailboxes, after when they are migrated also to O365. Some mailboxes are already in O365, for which migration will be done at a later stage. We use TransVault to do this, which can also migrate from EV to O365. That is the next challenge...

Regards. Gertjan

Good question "Out of curiosity, migrating mailboxes with or without archives exported back into mailbox? "

I just know there are moving the mailboxes out of Exchange and into Office365 and I beleive they are copying the data out of the archive and into their mailboxs for E-Discovery Purposes. I will find out and let you know.

GertjanA,

I said I would get back with you on your question. Here is what is going Down.

They are exporting the archived data " Copying the Data from the EV 11.0.1 Archive to the New Office365 Cloud Mailbox.

Hopefully this makes sense. :)
