Hi,
We have two EV server under one directory and one site, one server is in EU and other one is in US.
We need to migrate PSTs for EU users in EU EV server and PSTs for US Servers in US EV Server.
However you can only configure one PST Holding folder either in US or EU, however we do not want to move all US PSTs in EU and the archive back to US EV server as there will be a lot of WAN traffic.
Is there any workaround to this? Would have been really nice if you could configure PST holding folders per EV server. We didn't configure two EV sites as we wanted to simplify configuration to one site ... but hey now we didn't realise that PST migration can be a bit of pian ...
Many Thanks

Yes, PST migrations can be challenging. That is why we developed our PST FlightDeck software to help with the process and workflow by adding additional functionality.
There is a way to do what you want, we do it from time to time to help customers using our product to migrate psts.
Basically, you will create a host entry (alias) for each PST Holding Area which point to “Local” storage. You need to make sure the holding location server isn’t the name or alias of an EV server. If it is, you need to create a new alias for it in DNS and update that in EV. This is because updating the name for that server in the host file would mess up other communication from one EV server to another.
So if you holding location is \\serveralias\pstholding you would have a host file entry for serveralias in the host file for each EV server to point to the holding area that is locat to each EV server.
If you do decide you need a bit more than the built in EV features please don't hesitate to reach out to us. :)

Tony's right, we've seen this alias-type-of-thing setup for a couple of customers, it works, but is a bit 'odd' to use at first.
