We are running Enterprise vault 6.0. At present it is only set to archive manually as we have just created a new journal mailbox as the old one failed and had too many emails to archive. We had a few issues with permisions and a issue with the time on the nas box that the emails are archived to. Now i have sorted these issues out, when i run the vaulting it is only archiving about 3000 emails then stopping. If i try to run it again then it will vault about 30 or so then stop. There are no error messages in the event viewer and am a bit stumped as to why this is happening. Could someone point me in the right direction as to what i may have done wrong or what is causing this to happen?
Think have figured out what the issue was. Before i started here there was a issue where the vault account had been set to creat shortcutts in the inbox for the journal account. This lead to some 1million emails/ shortcutts been left in the inbox. It looks like one of the other guys has been trying to archive these shortcutts hence the vault looking like it is not vaulting correctly. Sorry for wasting your time. thanks for the help though.
If you set up a dtrace of the ArchiveTask (making sure you have a drive with enough space available for the logging as this will be quite big)
We should be able to see what happens in the trace and why we are stopping.
Could it be that your ev server is getting backed up or being stopped during the archiving run?
