Enterprise Vault 6 - Services Stopping with Multiple Error's Logged

twobob
Level 2
Hello,

I'm wondering if any one has come accross this issue.  I've searched and although found things similar - no Cigar!

In Brief, we're experiancing issues with the EV services stopping during its Archiving Task.  The reason the services are stopping is that low Virtual Memory is being reported, firstly as 95% used and then when it's ran out of V.M. the server is stopping the services to avoid corruption.  This started last week and the V.M. was increased to 6GB from 2GB - this was mainly to identify if the V.M. issue was the cause of the problem or simply a symptom.  It now turns out to be the Symptom as we're still having the issue and services failed again this weekend.

I've posted the events received below, the one that causes me most concern is the first one (highlighted).  This error comes up several times prior to EV failing.

The Vault ID differs (there's about 10 or so of them) and I've searched for each one in the 'Index' folder but  they don't exist there.

The errors "adding x/Y/z to Indexable Item" start to pepper us constantly about 5 or 6 mins before the V.M. errors come up.

The Events we are receiving in the 'Enterprise Vault' logs are:

Hi

What SP are you running?
Do you have enough storage in the index location (and temp dir) left?

Not excatly the same event id but maybe worst checking (SP2):

Thanks for the response.

We're on V6 SP3, I had noticed that KB in my searches but concerned what that change actually did.

As for disk space we've got plenty - 50gb for the index's and 28gb for the temp location.

When ever we have had problems like this in the past, with tasks stopping, it was due to avalable drive space.

Have you checked your storage space on the Evault server, index and archive locations? You may be running out of room there. Also confirm the size of your swap file. Should be 1.5 times the amount of memory, maximum of 4 GB.
