Enterprise Vault 8.0 - File System Organized Archiving

Hello All,

I have a quick question in relation to File System Archiving using Symantec Enterprise Vault 8.0

Can we configure archiving such that a particular aged file be archived in a particular vault?
e.g.
a. Any File not accessed since 2001 (Year) be archived in Vault A; OR
b. Any File created in 2001 be archived in Vault A; OR
c. Any File last modified in 2001 be archived in Vault A

Thanks in advance...

Regards,

GauravAditya

Not easily. All files below an arvhive point are intended to go in to the same archive.

if this is a one off exercise then you could create an archive point, set the appropriate policy and archive everything that matches the rule in to the associated archive. Once the file system has been completely scanned delete the archive point - but not the archive. Create a new archive point, which should create a new archive for all new files to go in to.

The other way could be to copy the files that meet your age criteria to a temporary '2001 staging area' using something like robocopy. From there archive all of those files from the staging area in to a 2001 archive.
