Enterprise Vault 8 SP5 OWA 2007 64bit extensions error

Hi,

New install of EV 8 SP5

3 x Exchange CAS 2007 with SP2

1 x Exchange mailbox role 2007 with SP2

We are implementing a new Enterprise Vault installation and have come to the point of installing the OWA 2007 extensions on our CAS servers. During the installation of the extensions we are getting the following error "There was a problem configuring Symantec Enterprise Vault OWA 2007 extensions with Exchange 2007. It may be possible to correct this manually by checking the contents of smallicons.xml and web.config. Do you want to continue".

Have checked the forums and knowledge base and can't see anything specific to this problem.

Has anyone come across this error before, we are not sure where the files mentioned should be located or whether or not this will stop OWA access from working.

Regards

Mark

Error Installing Enterprise Vault OWA extensions for Exchange 2007 There was a problem configuring Enterprise Vault OWA 2007 Extensions with Exchange 2007

Error

There was a problem configuring Enterprise Vault OWA 2007 Extensions with Exchange 2007. It may be possible to correct this manually by checking the content of smallicons.xml and the web.config, do you want to continue?

Cause

This can occur for the following reasons:

- The user attempting to install the Enterprise Vault OWA extensions on the server does not have the appropriate administrator permissions needed to modify the server.

- Even if the user has the correct permissions, this error can occur when the installer is invoked via a double-click on Windows 2008 with User Account Control enabled.

- Attempting to install the 32-bit EV OWA extensions on a 64-bit installation of Microsoft Exchanger Server 2007.

Solution

Solution 1:

Run the installation again as a local Administrator or Domain Administrator

Solution 2:

Run the installation again, invoking the installer from an administrative command prompt.

Solution 3:

Install the 64-bit Enterprise Vault OWA extensions on the 64-bit installation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007
