Enterprise Vault 9.0 Backup Using Windows Server 2008 Backup Your Server Wizard

Hi,

 

In our environment we have deployed Enterprise Vault 9.0 for Exchange 2010.

We want to take EV backup by using Windows Server Backup wizard.

What is the exact procedure for this?

When you back up an Enterprise Vault server, the following items should be  backed up:

  • Index locations

  • Vault stores

  • Vault store closed partitions

  • Vault store open partition, if present

  • Vault store databases

  • All the enterprise vault  SQL database

So when you create a backup Job you need to define some pre and post commands in the backup job so it out the Ev in backup mode and remove from the backup mode once the backup is complete. Also would be good practive to backup the SQl database when the EV is in backup mode .

Would recommend you to go for a backup application like BAckup Exec which as a special agent using which you can backup you EV under one selection .
