Enterprise Vault 9 migration

EVtest026
Level 2

Hello,
I would like to migrate from EV 9 to 10. I followed the procedure to upgrade to 64 bits hardware.
I need your help about index location for Archives. I have more than hundred of mailbox archives but I don't want to modify each mailbox manually. How can I change this settings automatically?
I found some informations on my sql server with IndexRootPathEntry table but I don'tknow how to modify all archives.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Tom.

Hello Tom,

This is the link to the KB-article site: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/

Check http://www.veritas.com/docs/000070518

and http://www.veritas.com/docs/000088346

You can move all indexes, adjust SQL, and off you go.

Regards. Gertjan

Thank you for your answer.

I read these 2 articles, but can you confirm that if I follow the last link 000088346, the index location and the server will be modified for each Exchange Mailbox archive?

Thanks.

Hi,

The first 6 steps will basically update the 'main' location for the indexing. This means the update is done for ALL archives.

If your not exactly sure you understand what is going to be done, make sure you have a good working backup of your SQL EV databases before performing any action. Make sure you have EV in backup mode, and prefereably disable the Site Schedule also. If possible, try in a testlab.

Your DBA (if you have one :) ) should be able to assist, or you could call support to figure out exactly the steps.

I've done this on EV8, 9, 10 and 11 versions without issues.

Regards. Gertjan
