Enterprise Vault Archiving Possibilities

Hi everyone,

I have a technical question and would like to hear a feedback from Symantec to make sure.

Is it possible to apply different mailbox policies to the same mailbox, but different folders?

e.g: John's mailbox has 2 folders under the Inbox: Personal and Work.

Personal must archive emails based on size, over than 5 mb.

Work must archive emails based on age, after 1 month.

Is this possible?

As JW3 says, EVPM is thw way to do this, and it's documented in the Utilities Guide.

If you need further assistance with specifics.. then shout.

I'm seeing the documentation and trying to work on this. Do you guys have a template script to archive a specific folder with a different policy under the Mailbox?

Hi Tony,

Thanks. That is exactly what I need.

One last question before closing this thread. If I apply this script for an existing mailbox with an existing archive vault and a default mailbox policy, this default policy will remain active, right? Will it only apply to the folders select on [Folder]?

that is correct, only the specified folder will be affected.
