Enterprise Vault File Archive on EMC Centera with new cube.

Hi

We have Symanterc Enterprise Vault 8 with SP3 for file archiving. We store our data on an EMC Centera device.

Recently our Centera cluster has run out of disk space on cube1.  EMC have added a new cube2 to the cluster.  Can anyone provide exact details on how to add the new IP addresses in.

We have a Centera at our main office and a replica copy to our D.R site. I have changed the local Centera IP addresses under Vault Store Partition successfully with the new cube IP addresses, howerver I cannot seem to get the "Saved Replica IP Address List" updated. It only has the ip addresses of the old Centera Cube1 D.R IP addresses. We are looking to decomission Cube1.  EMC are handling the cube to cube data migration, however they have advised us to update our application for the new addresses.

I was told by EMC that we dont require a new .pea. file . Can anyone please assist.

Many Thanks

Nick

The PEA file is required as it controls access to the Centera but it shouldn't need changing if only the ip addresses have changed. The IP Addresses of the replicas are provided by the Primary Centeras when you click the 'Test' button on the Connection tab of the VS partition properties. If you are having problems then dtrace the Storage options plus mmc and admin service.

You may also want to enable logging on the Centera:

This problem is now solved. The problem was with EMC not updating the replica ip addresses on the Centera cluster. Once this was changed, EV got the correct IP addresses under the vault store configuration section.
