Enterprise Vault Message Class Exclusions with Wildcards

Hi

I'd like to exclude a series of message classes that the users have in their mailbox. Specifically anything that starts with IPM.note and ends in .EAS

There are a number of different charatcters\strings that could exist between the '.Note' and '.EAS' so to capture these I logically I assumed that a wildcard here would cater for this eg  IPM.Note*.EAS which I would then leave 'unchecked' in the mailbox policy - however this doesn;t work. All the .EAS message classes are still being archived.

Is this becuase the wildcard MUST be at the end of the message class entry? as I find that if I explicitly create a message class entry for every .EAS message class resident in the users mailboxes then it does work as desired.

kind regards

KL

Sorry Rob - forgot to update.

In the end I just set exclusive message classes so didn't use wildcards at all

thanks

That is odd I'd assume that would work I suppose you could just do *.EAS?

Probably worth running a DTRACE too.
