Enterprise Vault - Pending Item in journal mailbox accumulation

John_Santana

Hi People,

I wonder if my EVJournal archiving is working or not ? because at the moment I can see emails with pending item dated back to 2009, when I opened that email, it got grey bar "This item is being archived by Enterprise Vault, Do not copy, move or delete this item" ?

I assume that the fully working EVJournal archiving task should only left the Exchange Journal mailbox with unread emails not archived since the last successful archiving task.

Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

So it doesn't sound quite 100%.  You should add the modified date field column to see when the item was made pending.

Also, you have an unsually large amount of items in the failed to store.  This TN explains what the various Failed folders contain

You can use this TN to reset the pending items.  Do not use the Cancel Operation option for journaling. Change the Pending Shortcut Timeout in the Exchange Journal Policy.

Then for items in the Failed folders, after you get your pending items cleared you can drag some of the back to the inbox to see if they process.  If they fail there will be entries in the EV log to help you troubleshoot.

Honestly though, sounds like you could use a good Health Check.  :)
