Enterprise Vault - System Volume Information

On the same drive that we have our vault store groups there is a hidden folder called System Volume Information. I am not sure if this is from netbackup or from evault it self. There is a new file created each day arround 4am when the backup is ran. This is filling up our storage. Does anyone know what they are? Can they be removed?

They are system files and generally have a name like:

We discovered Shadow copy was set to on with no limit on another drive. Once we set a limit the folder System Volume  Information cleaned up and we were able to restart all services.

Just so it's explicitly stated, this is caused by neither Net Backup nor Enterprise Vault. This folder is created by Windows to house Restore Point information for the System Restore feature. More info here and here.
