As per the latest Compatibility Matrix dated 4th Sep, MS Outlook 2016 is not listed under supported Windows email clients.
Make sure you have the actual Internet Explorer application set as default browser. it might be conflicting with the new Edge browser
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search.)
Enter Default programs, and then tap or click Default Programs.
Tap or click Set your default programs.
Select Internet Explorer from the list of programs.
Tap or click Set this program as default, and then tap or click OK.
