Error Archive Task 8390 after Service Pakc 2

Hello,

I have problem in EV after instalation EV Service Pack 2. Now, I have EV version 8.0.2.1693.

During Archive Tack is Event Viewer - Symantec Enterprise Vault filling every 10 second Errors 8390:

Description:

The EnterpriseVault.DirectoryConnection object reported an error.
 
The RPC server is unavailable.

Do you anybody know, how solve this problem please?

Try tp verify name resolution for the alias & host name of ev server.

Thanks for tips, but DNS is ok. EV server alias and hostname IP adress is ok, ping to them is ok too.

It's likely related to shortcut processing encountering items that are associated with an Enterprise Vault Site that is not available or does not exist.  The only way to find out for sure if this is the case is to get a dtrace of the archive task while performing a 'Run Now' of shortcut processing.

As a temporary measure you could disable all the 'Moved Items' settings in the Archiving policy.  If there are any items in the A6 MSMQ you will have to let those process before you'll see the policy change have any impact.
