Whenever I try to use the "Move to File system" option in the Archive explorer I am getting the following errors 41145, 40966 and 40967 in the event log. The file does get copied to the original location, but not getting deleted from the archive.

We have one EV site with 2 FSA servers and other servers for exchange mailbox archiving. Move option in the archive explorer for exchange mailbox archives works fine and the move function for the FSA archives on the 2nd FSA server works fine. This is happening only on one server out of  2.

Both the fileserver use the same volume policy, folder policy , retention folders and retention categories.

Both the fileservers are members of 2 different flie server clusters

Attached the dtrace log

The Event ID is showing the issue is to do with the retention category:-

Restoring of file 654Driver.txt failed for destination \\xxxxxxxxx\users$\xxxxxxxx. Additional info: Urn identifies an item which is on hold or has a Retention Category that denies deletion

The DTRACE also shows this (as this also logs the event):-

1204 12:53:15.872 [4788] (EVFileSvrArcMngr) <6008> EV:M CVault::IsDeletePermitted (Exit) |\
1205 12:53:15.887 [4788] (EVFileSvrArcMngr) <6008> EV:M CVault::DeleteSaveset (Exit) |The deletion of the item is not currently permitted. Either the item is on hold, or its retention category does not allow deletions, or a compliance device retention period prevents it from being deleted. \'a0 \'a0 \'a0[0xc0041a57] |\

If memory serves me right, when you do a MOVE we try to delete the item from the Archive. In this instance, the item was archived with a retention category that prevents deletions.

In Archive Exploere you can right click in the main window, choose Display Options, then select the Retention Category - you can then check this in the VAC to see what's what. I notice this is also being stored on a Centera, so you should check to see if the Retention is being governed by EV or EMC

We have 2 FSA servers using the same voulume policy and same rentention categories and it works fine for the folders on the 2nd server.

I checked the properties of the retention category and the option "Prevent deletion of archived items.. " is not checked.
