Evault add-in for Outlook 2010

Hi Folks,

I just completed upgrade to Evault v9.0.3 and as a part of this upgrade we also pushed outlook addin to all the users via SCCM, 99% of the users are still on Outlook 2007 Sp3 and the decom addin works great.

Some users (including me) use outlook 2010 and we never got the decom add-in pushed on our machine, when doing manual install it clearly says that outlook 2010 needs http-only addin. I installed http-only addin on my machine which is working for now.

Just wanted to know when the full version of the add-in is going to be made available for Outlook 2010, upon doing online search i came across couple of article which are not recently updated and it says that the only version supported at this point is http-only.

Here is what i came across:-

The Feature Briefing document says this:

The Unified Client uses a new web page on the Enterprise Vault server to retrieve the client settings and information. The web page is automatically deployed when installing or upgrading Enterprise Vault 10.0.1 on the server, and is available as a hotfix for all version 9.0 releases and 10.0.0.If necessary the Client falls back to „Light‟ behavior against older/unpatched servers without this new page .

So, yes, it will work with EV 9.

The "full" version is available in EV10sp1.  While there is no longer a dcom version, the http version in 10sp1 now has full functionality (and works better than dcom too).

I looked at the PDF for 10.1 client and also the blog post that Tony shared, it appears that the new 10.1 client is actually a combination of decom + http method and is now called "Unified client"

So the question is going to be how would you push addin in a environment which has mix of Outlook 2007 and 2010 clients?

I didn't see anything specific information about the 10.1 client compatibility with backend Enterprise vault deployment... Previously it was published that the EV outlook add-in could be + or - 1 version than the backend evault version, does this still remains True?

They did mentioned that the new add-in 10.1 is compatible with Outlook 2003/2007 and 2010 which is a great thing.
