Exchange offline defragmentation and EV

Dear Community,

I have maybe a simple question.

We have a clustered Exchange 2003 SP2 environment which is archived by Enterprise Vault 2007.

We would like to run offline defrag against the mailbox stores of this Exchange server.

Can it be done regardless of EV?

Everything will be fine after the offline defrag?

Hello there,

Only thing you might want to do from EV's perspective is to stop the Task so it does not try to connect to Exchange whilst it is offline.  Save you a sea of red in your application log.

Just a note

Microsoft do not recommend you doing an offline defrag of exchange 2003 mailboxes unless it is 100% required, like you are stuck for space on the disk where the store resides.
