I believe Dodo meant, "so it (EV) will NOT archive shortcuts".
If you're migrating PSTs to new or different mailboxes than those used to originally create the shortcuts there is a good chance the shortcut will no longer work. The new user would require access to the vault to which the shortcut is pointed.
If this is the case you may need to perform the old export\import trick to the new mailbxox archive.

Hi,
EV will only migrate certain message classes like ipm.note etc so it attempt to archive shortcuts.

Joe's response wasnt exactly the answer to my question but did make me think about the fact that if the PSt is migrated to another mailbox, the shortcut won't work. Thanks!
I did talk to Symantec support and got the answer to my original question. The shortcut itself is not "re-archived" or whatever... EV only archives certain messages classes. The actual shortcut itself is not a message class that EV will archive so the action it takes is it just moves it into the mailbox of the user. Obviously if the original archived item still exists , it will work normally.
