External access to attachment links in a multiserver EV environment

Hi folks,

We have an EV environment with 3 EV servers archiving about 12k mailboxes (same Exchange org), all running both Index and Storage roles. For external access, we published evserver1.

The requirement is to display the attachments as links within the shortcut.

The challenge is that for the users processed by evserver2 and evserver3, the attachments are not accessible outside the LAN as they pick the DefaultWebAppURL for these servers which are not reachable outside. 

Any idea on how to address this?

Can you explain 'external access'? Do you mean OWA? Remote login? Something else?

Hi all,

It seems the only solution on this is to publish all EV servers off the LAN because the attachment links in the shortcut will take the EV server URL where the archive is stored.
