FSA - Failed to recall PDF from placeholders

Hello ..

We cannot open archived PDF files from Windows filesystem(Windows Explorer) ..

EV version: 10.0.2 10261

Op: Windows 2008 R2 std

Acrobat version: 10.x.x

Protected Mode on Acrobat = off

Using UNC path to open archived PDF works fine!

Recall PDF files from archive works fine!

But .. users cannot open archived PDF files from clients!

Error message on client!

There was an error opening this document : Access Denied

grateful for any suggestions

Hi all ..

Problem solved ..

Did a Webex to enduser and uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at startup" from "General ....."

The error was that "Enable Protceted Mode" was unchecked from "Preferences-Security(Enhanced)" ..

Many thanks to all who responded with suggestions ;O)

I would suspect protected mode is not off.

 

Have you tripley quadrupley, mega-fine-tooth-comb checked?

I asked the same question(3t) and got the answer yes yes yes

1. uncheck Enable Protected Mode at startup

2. restart the client

3. try again

Answer: cannot open PDF .... same error

 

I will ask for a screenshot ..

Got a screenshot now and Enhanced Security is unchecked ..

Still the same error!

Cannot open archived PDF files from filesystem!

bit odd, maybe a procmon of acrobat (look for denied) will help?

That is odd as this is typical of having Protected Mode enabled and being able to open from UNC path.  

Does the request make it to the PH service on the file server in a Dtrace of EvPlaceholderService?
