FSA Placeholders to Internet Links

Hello

I need to migrate target FSA data from a Windows 2003 to a Windows 2008 R2 server. And the new target server will use DFS for file replication.

I read that the placeholders file tipes are not compatible with DFS replication, and the solution is to use Internet Links for archived files.

In the old 2003 server, there is not space to restore all the orginial data (to delete the placeholders and do the migration to DFS 2008).

For the archived data in the old 2003 server, can I convert the Placeholders to Internet Links with any process or tool?

Thank you!

Hi

I'm not aware of a way of doing that with built-in tools. I'd suggest creating a program which reads the current shortcuts and converts them to HTML Links. We might be able to do this for you, please contact us if you're interested.

Cheers
