FSA Recovery

How could we recover from a drive failure on the File server with placeholders?

Is there any whitepaper/document on recovery scenarios of FSA?

Thanks in advance !

What are you using for backups?  A normal backup is fine for the file server, just make sure it ignores offline files or it will try and recall the placeholders when the backups run.

For the EV, the normal backup scenario applies, back up the Vault Store partitions, Indexes,  and the SQL databases.  Without those you could not recover from a disaster!

Any article or document which talks about FSA recovery?

My first thought is that you use your normal backup to restore everything to the disk. Have you tried that step first?

I just need to understand if just restore a normal backup is enough or do we have to restore the SQL stuff as well

Why do you think you need to do anything with SQL?

Was your SQL stored on the disk that failed?
