Failed DL Expansion in EV 10

MikeM-2468

Since upgrading from EV 9 to EV 10, I'm seeing a lot of items that fail DL expansion.  This is only occurring with hidden distribution lists.  If I unhide the DL, it works ok.  Is there a way around this?

I hadn't seen that.  It seems like the easiest solution is clearing the address book policy from the service account.  Would this have any adverse effects?

I don't think you would see any adverse effects, the VSA just will not be bound to a ABP.

See this for some more info on ABP, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh529948.aspx

The odd thing that I'm seeing is that if I run Get-AddressBookPolicy from EMS, I get no results.  I wonder if this is because Exchange 2003 isn't completely out of the environment yet.

MikeM, how did this work out for you?

There is no ABP so that won't fix it at this point.  We're waiting to do anyting until we decommission the 2003 servers next week.

just as a matter of interest, have you ran any dtraces to see what EV is actually failing to do behind the scenes? from the looks of it, this would be fairly straight-forward to replicate for troubleshooting purposes.

I have a dtrace but I don't know how to interpret it.

If you zip it up and add it as an attachment we can take a look.

unfortunately there is too much to try to sanitize in the file to post it.

Setting the GC reg key appears to have worked.  The other solutions were not applicable.
