Failed to create a placeholder Event ID 20488

I have recently deployed my FSA Archivng on Windows 2008 R2 x64 NTFS Symantec FSA version 8.0.3.1845

When I create a simple archive olicy to archive everything older than 6 months, I get a ton of Errors in the atrget server that is being archived 20488.  I see the vault increasing in size, but it is skipping a lot of files with this error.

Any idea?  I have searched the forums and there doesnt seem to be a clear cut answer.  I am also running Trend Micro (which I disabled)

Any help would be be great.

1. Add it a zip file
2. Delete the DSC_0051.htm
3. Unextract the zip file and put the DSC_0051.htm back

attempt to rearchive and see if it becomes a shortcut

Still no success, ran the archive task again, and same error.  What's funny is that there are a bunch of other files in the archive point that are archived succesfuly.

Would suggest opening up a case with support the only other real mention that i found was on another support thread where they seemed to suggest that these files came over from a netware or unix system where the files has Extended Attributes on them

Ok, will do.  What's odd is that it is working on other folders with the exact same policy and access rights.

We are experiencing exactly the same issue on a Windows 2003 R2 File Server, using EV FSA 8.0.3.1845 (SP3).

We have raised a case with this issue with Symantec and I shall update this call as soon as it has been resolved.

We are also looking to upgrade to EV FSA 8.0.3.1845 (SP5), does anyone know if this resolves this issue (cannot find it listed on any of the fixes detailed in the supporting documentation.
