How To Not Archive Flagged Messages

Our company recently rolled out Enterprise Vault.  One of the main questions from our users has been how do they keep flagged messages in their Inbox until the flag has been completed.  Many of our Executives manage their follow-ups/task from their inbox or keep important documents related to a long running project in their inbox.  This is done so they have a daily reminder and/or can access the information from the mobile devices very quickly.

When we used Microsoft Outlook auto-archive feature, you could set an option for auto-archive to skip archiving messages that had an active flag.  Can you do the same thing with a setting in Enterprise Vault?  Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

There isn't currently an easy way to do what you've asked.

I think you have a couple of options

1. Set a pending reminder on the item and make sure that the archiving task does not archive items with pending reminders
 

2. Go to the message properties and select the Do Not Archive box, but the item will not archive until the item has been cleared

3. Create a folder through EVPM called something like "Active Projects" and have them move their active items to the folder, and in EVPM set it to DoNotArchive so nothing in that folder is touched, then move back out when completed and want to be archived

There may also be a way to do it through custom filtering possibly but that might be overkill

Also go and add a thumbs up to this Idea, it shows the functionality is "in review" but in the backlog behind a lot of other things etc
