How big is EV compression ratio ?

Hello,

Can anyone please help me in compiling how large is the compressed and the uncompressed size data for file server archive in EV 9.0.4 ?

I'd like to rehydrate (push everything) all archived files into the file server.

Thanks !

Hello John,

As far as I know, if you use the usage report, the MB there is the UNCOMPRESSED size.

http://EVserver.domain.local/enterprisevault/usage.asp

You should see something like FSA Vault Store (assuming you have a seperate FSA store).

And, check this one:

EV uses Zlin for compression and it's ok, however lots of files like JPG's. zips etc are already compressed, and when you add on converted content size etc you can sometimes find that the original items are smaller than EV's compressed size Really the space savings come from OSIS, not compression
