Hi All,
I am having EV 9.0.2 and have a EMC centera storage device where we save the archived data which is of 30TB.
We have come arcoss an issue now where EMC centera free object count is been nearing to be exahusted we called EMC centera and they informed that we have already configured to use EMC centera Free object count to Maximum that is 100 Million each node.
Now every day i see that the Free object count on my Centera Device is been reducing by 2 Million items which is too huge number so EMC has asked me to contact Symantec to see if the items written on the EMC device can be written in bunch rather than indiviual Items.
For Eg if i have 10 mails to be written on EMC centera partiton EMC suggest that application should group the 10 mails to 1 and save it on device so that it can help us to reduce the usage of free object counts.
So i am looking if there is any such setting form EV server which i can perfrom to acheive the same.

You can enable collections against a Centera which means that items are placed in a staging area, collected and then written to the device. Go to the properties of the partition in the EV Admin Console and check the help from the collections tab for more information

if you're on the older gen centera like JW is suggesting, you might want to strongly consider migrating to new storage. another option would be to close off this centera before you reach your threshold and start writing new data to a new location instead.
