How to install FSA agent on Windows Server 2012 R2 ?

Hi All,

I need to perform file server migration to the new Windows Server 2012 R2, so I need to install the FSA agent on the new File Server running 2012 R2, from the EV 9.0.4

How can i install the FSA agent so that I can perform FSAUtility placeholder migration from the old file server 2008 hosts ?

2012 R2 is not a supported target for EV 9.

Have a look at the compatibility guide.

Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported by EV 10.0.4 or EV 11 so you'll have to upgrade before you can migrate

This is for the NTFS FSA archiving not for installing the EV server.

Ah ok, on the document page 63, it says that NTFS 3.1 (also referred to as 5.1) is supported.

not sure i follow. if your source is a Windows 2012 file server then you need to install the FSA agent on it and refer to the compatibility charts like rob and i previously posted.

Look at page 54.
