Hi,
I have a bunch of users ( around 500) already enabled for archiving, but due to their huge mailbox size, they have a lot of unarchived mails. we are planning to set limitation for their mailboxes, but before doing that we need to manually archive their emails to reduce the size of their mailbox, then they wont face any issue for send and receive. So how can I select only these users ( they are already added to a provisioned group) and start their mailbox archiving. Or how can I start archiving for this provisioning group.
EV Version 10
please help.
Thanks.

So there are two ways you can do it
1. Run Now
Right click the Archiving Task for the exchange server, and go to Run Now
Choose Archiving and then select the users and then let it go and it will archive everything in the policy
OR
2. Use of provisioning groups and the task
If you have multiple provisioning groups, in the properties of the provisioning group is a check box saying "Archive these mailboxes" or something to that affect, uncheck that for every provisioning group except the one you want to archive, then run provisioning and then kick off some archiving runs either through run now, or extend out the archiving window to sometime during the day
Really though it all depends on the policy as well, so you it might only archive a certain amount of their mailbox dependent on the age of the items, whether they've been read/unread, their message class etc
