How to move the directory service.

Hi Nayan,

Each EV server has its own Directory service.  What are you trying to do?

I installed 2 EV servers eg

SERVER1
SERVER2

During the installation i selected the directory service to be on SERVER1 for both the servers. Now just wondering if the Directory service for SERVER2 can be hosted locally on SERVER2 instead of SERVER1.

Yes exactly this screen.

Ok, that just means that both servers share the same Directory Database.  Each server does have its on Directory service. 

Is your intent to have two completly serparte EV environments?

Can you elaborate on what you are trying to do?

Hmm actually my intent is to use the same site however the EV servers would be deployed in different global regions. what i did was in the intent to use the same site i made the directory service of my honk kong server available on my US EV sever.

So was thinking to have a directory service locally on one of my HK EV servers.

Does it really affect if the directory service is locally not hosted?

Ok, so the second EV Server will have its own SQL server, etc.. in the US region?

If yes, then you can follow the article I wrote about removing an EV server.

Once done, uninstall the EV application from the server, delete the program files, delete the EV registry entries and then work through the install of EV again.

You will be able to see both sites from the Admin Console but they will be independant of each other.  Does that make sense?
