Inavalid placeholder file for some archived items

I noticed I'm getting some invalid placeholders in my reports.  It has the icon indicating it's a shortcut, but when I open, copy, or modify the file the icon remains indicating it's still a shortcut.  I believe it's not a shortcut at all because of the size on disk.  The actually error I'm getting for the files affected is below.

Actual Error
This is not a valid placeholder file. Ignoring this file. Element not found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070490)

Thanks,
Sunshine

Does the item open correctly?

Sounds like it may be a corrupt placeholder perhaps.  You could try restoring it from backup, using FSAUtility (V7 and above).

You may also want to check out the followng technote.
