Hi,
I have noticed that index locations remain in backup mode for long time even after the backup is completed and if indexes are in backup mode, we cant search any index using DA.
My question is: can we manually clear the index location from backup mode if we confirm that backup is completed?
Do we have to restart any service(indexing service) after clearing the backup mode to set it back to normal mode?
If the "clear backup mode" is highlighted (not graded out), does that mean the indexes are not in backup mode and it is safe to clear backup mode?

If you confirm the backup completed then sure, take the indexes out of backup mode so they can get caught up.
The big issue is why are they being left in backup mode. Does this happen all the time? You need to verify your scripts to make sure it is being called to remove the indexes properly.
What version of EV and what do you use for backups?
Here are a few TN's for you:

It happens sometimes. We use enterprise vault 10.0 and Backup is Commvault. We use CTRL M script to set EV in backup mode and clear backup mode post backup.
It seems there is some issue in CTRL M scripts.
