Indexes for Journal Archive - Repair?

philt

Hi All,

We are having issues when doing Advanced Finds on our Journal. It would just fail.

On checking the Index Volumes for the Journal we found one index had ' Not Set'  under 'Failed Items' , all other Indexes had '0'. So we decided to repair index volume. This has been rebuilding for almost 2 days and was wondering how long this should take or can I monitor it's progress.

Below is a copy of all out Journal Index Volumes;

you should have just done an update:
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/323470.htm
What does it mean when the "Failed Items" column displays "Not Set" on the "Index Volumes" tab of the "Archive Properties"?
Details:
This value is a representation from the SQL Table for the Index Volume, which is gathered from the IndexMissing.log file contained in the physical location of the Index Volume.

When this value displays 'Not Set" it means that the Index has not been updated since an Upgrade from Enterprise Vault 7.0 and the value within SQL is set to 'NULL'. This does not affect the validity of Discovery Accelerator searches.

To properly Update this value perform an 'Index Volume Update' on any of the affected Index Volumes.

You should get updates in the EV app log
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/304099.htm
ndex rebuild status is now logged with an Informational Event ID 7305 in Enterprise Vault (EV) 2007.

This informational event was added in EV 2007 to show the status of the index rebuild process. It will be logged in the Enterprise Vault Event Viewer log. This could take a looooong time. (Weeks) You can see it on the EV Server, if it has lots of processor activity, then it's doing something with the index ;) There is no live-status view, I think.
