Is there any way to export Sharepoint archived items?

Hi

I've met the situation when I need to do mass restore of Sharepoint archived items. Amount of items is small enough to bother with 3rd party tools but large enough to do it manually (2-3GB). Is there any way to do it using built-in EV 10 functionality?

sharepoint archives can't be exported via the console but you can use the search page to search and restore or you can use DA to search and export. if you dont have DA, then you might consider upgrading to EV11 because the new "EV Search" interface is much more condusive to this type of exercise than the old one with the restore basket and whatnot.

Hi Ralfeus,

You might want to take a look at the EVSPShortcutManager.exe utility located in the Enterprise Vault instalation directory:

Symantec Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 - Utilities Guide
http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC6599  (Page 85)

EVSPShortcutManager is a command-line utility that enables you to manage the Enterprise Vault shortcuts that are in SharePoint. You can use EVSPShortcutManager to do the following:

  • Replace HTML shortcuts with new shortcuts that behave exactly like SharePoint documents. The new shortcuts use the same icons as the corresponding original documents.
  • Recall archived items to replace all shortcuts in an entire site, collection, or library with the corresponding original documents

wait, did you say you want to export the items or to restore (aka recall) them back to their original location?
