Hi All
I have a customer on EV 9.0 sp2
They have installed SQL Reporting Services 2008 32 bit on Windows 2008, we can bring up the default Reports Webpage but when we try to run the EV Reporting Config it sits on the Checking if IIS is running and doesn't progress so we cannot complete the EV SQL Reporting Config. The IIS 6 Management Compatilbility is installed, any ideas what would cause this not to complete the Config?

Hi Ameen and others
The customer decided just to install SQL 2005 reporting services and that is now working.
Thanks for the help and assistance

Do you have UAC enabled on the SQL server?

Hi Rahul
This has been disabled and anti-virus.
AV has caused issues at this customer so I wanted to be sure

Did you confirm that the EV service account has local admin access on the SQL server?
05-10-2012 12:54 PM
Is there anything in the installation log?
05-10-2012 09:41 PM
@ Ameen
Yes the Service account is in the local admins
@ AVMorris
Just to clarify, what installation log are you referring to. Do you mean the EVDeployReports.Log
I haven't reviewed that yet

Yes! Is there anything of interest?

Hi AWMorris
I'll check that today when I'm onsite and give feedback
Thanks

The last lines of the EVDeployReports.Log say the following, in my opinion not really helpful because I already know that the Config Program isn't communicating with IIS on the server

Is SQL/IIS running on the default ports?
05-11-2012 12:24 PM
I did try to test it in my Lab and found its true that the configuration sits at checking IIS!!
Below are the server details,
SQL - SQL 2008 R2 64 bit
Windows - Windows 2008 R2
EV - EV 9.0.2
Anybody have experience in running reporting on Windows 2008 system?

I could find some time to work on my lab and could find that ASP was not installed on my server and once I install the same it started working.
Also find an article which help for troubleshooting Reporting, you can download the guide 'Troubleshooting enterprise vault reporting' by following the below link, trust me it helps :)

Hi Ameen
Thanks for putting in the effort to simulate this issue, I'll look into that possible ASP config.
Oh and those updated guides are very useful. I was using them but not the updated ones :)

I've also seen Windows Firewall cause some issues when it comes to the reporting server if the ASP suggestion fails to resolve the issue.

One question I forget to ask you, whether your customer is trying to migrate the old reporting database/reporting to new server? If that is the case then encriptiong key part you have to look.

Had the same issue today. In order for me to get it to work.
I removed the proxy settings within Internet Explorer and created an ODBC connection to the reporting database and directory database and the reports deployed succesfully.
