Issues installing in a locked down environment

We are currently working on setting up our Windows 7 environment and one thing we are doing is setting user account without admin rights.  The issue we are running in to right now is that anytime we install Vault (http only 9.0.6169) with Office 2010 the add in shows as installed, but the menu options are not showing up.

The logged on user does not have admin rights so we are installing the software with elevated credentials.  If we switch accounts to any admin account the menu items are showing up properly.

I think the addin might register some stuff etc when opening outlook for the first time. So you could try to temporarily elevate the users rights, install the software, open outlook with his profile and then change back the rights again.

This is no solution to your problem but this way you can narrow down the reason for the behaviour.

hmmm, it could actually be something more simple
could you go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\

Do you have an EV Client log in the users directory? if so , open it up and see what it says.......

Are you using the ALLUSERS context when you are installing the MSI?

If not try using it and set it to equal 2 as this will perform the install for each user. If that fails set the context to 1 as this will perform the install under AllUsers so it will be generic to every user who accesses that machine

I think Scanner001 is on to something there... how, and which user context are you doing the installation?
