Locating PST files with no extensions

Chris_Barnes

Scenario:

All PST files are stored on user home directories but have no file extensions due to some bad scripting. Outlook does not complain about this. The PST Locator task cannot find these due to this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? There are 1100+ floating around out there...

Best regards,

Chris

Chris,
I'd recommend instructing your clients (or creating a script) to move the pst's manually to the holding area. You'll also want to be sure to set those psts in to a read only mode so that they don't get out of date with your moved copy. Oh yeah, and make sure that EV has marked those PST's with the archive and vault info (via policy setting). That should work, even it's extremely manual. Assuming EV6.0sp1.
