MAPI troubleshooting process

HI Guys

Just want to pick a few brains on MAPI troubleshooting process. We have 4 ev servers and 1 sql. 2 for mail, one for PF's and one for file.

All functions ok....scheduled mail archiving is fine.....but when it comes to manual mail archiving its very very intermittent. As an example 5 minutes ago i manually tried archiving 2 mails which bounced back to regular mails. 2 minutes ago i retried the exact same 2 mails are now they are archived. My dtraces point to "mapi sessions from pool" but from where im sitting it all looks fine with no config changes. Has anyone got a details mapi guide or any advice on how to dig deeper?

You could be having connection issues to your Global Catalog; or too many MAPI connections.

By default the number of concurrent NSPI connections is limited to 50 (prior to Windows 2008 the connections were unlimited). See:  http://www.veritas.com/docs/000039716

Thanks for the reply, ill dig through all those to see if anything crops up. The GC is a possibility...ive no visability of our GC's so who knows what goes on in the backround there.....Ill hope for the best!
