Migrate from old NetApp storage to new NetApp storage

We intend migrating both the index locations and vault store partitions from our old NetApp to a new NetApp. Enterprise Vault and SQL are not moving or changing. We will use SnapMirror to migrate the data from the one device to the other.

I have found many articles and references to do this, but nothing for NetApp.

Could you please share any information you have for this?

- EV 9.0.4

- Separate SQL 2008 mirror

Hi.

I dont really think there are any real anything different migrating from Netapp to Netapp or Migrating to NTFS to NTFS as far as EV is concerned this is just anther network location and that is that.  I think this video should probably help.

For indexes have a look at.

If we are talking about CIFS shares, you just need to copy the data over to the new volume (you're using snapmirror for that already) and then update the SQL server directory database. If you have the data on a LUN, re-mapping the LUN to the WIndows server with the same drive letter or mount point should be enough. In this case, you don't need to update the databases.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Maverik and GabeV, both your answers are relevant and valued. I wish I could mark both as the solution, but unfortunately, I can only choose one.
