Migrating NTFS VaultStore into single CIFS share ?

Hi People,

My current EV 9 got 17 closed Vault Store partition each 512 GB TB in size. the last open partition is 1 TB, now I'd like to know what's the recommended EV CIFS share migration best practice steps and sizing ?

The CIFS share is hosted on EMC Data Domain

1. Do I need to seperate all closed VaultStore in one CIFS share while the open is in separate CIFS share ? or can it be combined together which give 10 TB+ CIFS share ?

2. When copying the VaultStore content from NTFS share into CIFS share, what's the recommended way ?

Thanks.

Hi John,

1. you can change the partition path but i would recommend keeping the folder structure so each partition is kept in a seperate folder

2. unless you have a device-level method, i'm pretty sure robocopy is the tool most fall back on for file copy from disparate storage devices

This article describes how to move a vault store partition or vault store on the same Enterprise Vault server from one location to another
