Can anyone help?
Today our Enterprise Vault Servers lost connection to our EV SSQL server.
I restarted all EV servers and when the SQL server finally came back up some of the EV databases are missing from the Management Studio and the DB files are showing to be 0kb.
some of the databases are fine.
what are my options, retores the missing databases or restore all the EV databases.

Stop all your EV Services immediately.
take a back up of the good databases
Restore the 0kb and missing databases
Then you may want to run EVSVR using the database linkages option under report to make sure the database is ok in terms of its storage

thanks,
we have started the backup/restore process,
can you think of anything else we may encounter during this process?

You could encounter the same thing that trashed your databases in the first place... have you reviewed system event logs, application event lots and so on to try to determine WHAT happened?

Robbie,
I am curious and wish to know in more detail with what you say
"some of the EV databases are missing from the Management Studio and the DB files are showing to be 0kb.
some of the databases are fine."
Which Database you see as 0KB? can you please name them?
In my opinon, you should stop the EV service and then restore all the database which shows 0KB and then compare all the databases size with your last successful backup database.
Then as Rob said investigate what went wrong?

Our EV system is back online, here is what i did:-
By missing in SQL i mean that the datatbase title was there but you could not expand to view the tables etc.
i restored the following databases that were missing in the SQL Management Studio and the files were 0kb:-
EVVSCityProMailVaultStore_23
EVVSCityCommMailVaultStore_22
EVVSCountyJrnlVaultStore_32
EVVSCountyMailVaultStore_24
EVVSDCHSJrnlVaultStore_39
EVVSDCHSMailVaultStore_37
EVVSDHISFileVaultStore_21
EVVSDHISJournalVaultStore_20
EVVSDHISMailVaultStore_19
EVVSDMHTFileVaultStore_34
EVVSDMHTJrnlVaultStore_33
EVVSDMHTMailVaultStore_25
then i restored the following that were is a SUSPECT state in SQL Studio:-
EVVSGCityCommVaultStoreGroup_6_6
EVVSGCountyVaultStoreGroup_8_8
then the following databases were restored in turn when the EV servers were showing error regarding access to the database:-
EnterpriseVaultDirectory
EVVSCityCommJrnlVaultStore_27
EVVSCityProJrnlVaultStore_30
EVVSCityCommFileVaultStore_28
EVVSNHSEMJrnlVaultStore_36
EVVSCountyFileVaultStore_31
EVVSDCHSFileVaultStore_38
and then when all services were restarted, no errors and archived items were accessible.
i'm checking all servers and tasks today to see how things are, but it all seems ok.
thanks everyone for chipping in.
the issue we think was caused by a SAN storage related error,
