Move Archive leads to data growth on the closed source data partition ?!?

Hi,

we´re moving mass of archives at the moment between two EV Sites (9.02 to 10.0.4). In the old site we use regular Windows NTFS Shares as Vault Partitions. There are 3 closed partitions on a windows partition which is nearly full and can´t expand. In this old partitions Enterprise Vault collections were used. While moving archives out of this site our monitoring system recognized that the Windows Partitions reached their thresholds, but we can´t find any files with a actual date etc. on the partition.

Is it so that the collection files were unpacked while moving the archives with the enterprise Vault tools? Is there a change to influence this behaviour, or do i have to move the partition to another partition?

Will EV compress the Data again after the move is finished so that the data amount will shrink again when the move is finished?

Thank you

Jakob

Yes, the cab files are unpacked during the migration.  You will have lots of *.arch* files created.  These will be removed after the process that requires them automatically.
