Hi all
I have a cusomer who is currently on EV 11.0.1 and want to go to EV 12.3.
Once upgraded they want to have a look at SMTP archiving instead of the standard archiving tasks using a journal stream. Personally I have not used this before apart from a standard journal setup.
Reading through the documentation and SMTP provisioning groups if a user already has a standard exchange archive will that archive be used for SMTP archiving for their email or will a new internet archive be created for them. I.E. the user will have two archives to search.
Also if anyone has experience and gotchas of doing it this way that I need to explain to the customer.
Thanks
SP

Hi,
first thing to notice is that the SMTP Journaling is faster then regluar Journaling (almost factor 2)
Next thing you will need less data for indexing 9% instead of 12% at full index.
You can also catch anything else that sends over SMTP like printers, applications etc.
I do excatly get your question. You will for example have an archive in "Exchange Mailbox" and one in "SMTP" if this is what you mean.
