Moving Exchange to a resource forest

Hi,

I want to thank, in advance, anyone who will bother to help on this issue.

The current situation is:

1. Exchange 2003 frontend - backend configuration

2. Enterprise Vault 8 (file and mail archiving)

We have plans to move upgrade Exchange 2003 to 2010 and move it to a resource forest (1way trust forest) (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998031.aspx).

What are the options for the ΕV Server? Do I have to split the EV Server  (the old EV server for file archiving stays in the old forest and a new EV server for the mail archiving installed in the new forest) or I can preserve the current configuration and just  add the new forest-domain?

Thanks once again,

George

Have a look at this:

Domain/Forest Trust is required in order to archive mailboxes on an Exchange Server in another Windows Server forest.

I think given the above you can leave EV where it is which would be the easiest solution.  :)
