This Tech article descrbes the procedure for moving the finger print datadase: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH64655

Do I run it against the one .mdf database only or do I have to runi it against the multiple.ndf databases as well?

Thanks,

Rick

then all you need to do is update the fields in EnterpriseVaultDirectory per the technote. it's not specific to the database files, just the sql server name.

the technote is what do you in EV only if you change the name of the SQL server where the fingerprint db is stored. in general, you would keep all the mdf and associated ndf files together. what changes are you making to your environment?

I a moving all the EV database  from SQL 2005 to SQL 2012, so the name of our SQL 2012 server is different from our SQL 2005 server.
