Dennis,
Can I suggest starting a new thread, rather than using this thread (which is primarily aimed at announcing the new guide)?

Simon,
Most of your answers :
8.0.4 can be upgraded to 9.0 only
7.5 SP6 can be upgraded to 9.0 and 9.0.1
8.0.5 can be upgraded to 9.0.1 only
With regards to EV 8 SP 5 versus DA 9, the jury is out on that one. I'll reply when I know more.

Thanks Rob. Technically it has to be supported, otherwise there's no route to upgrade for any site that has already deployed DA8 SP5/EV8 SP5 as for larger implementations there's going to be a coexistance phase.
Dennis, FYI, I'm planning/testing:
DA8 SP2 -> DA8 SP5, EV 2007 SP6 -> EV 8 SP5, DA8 SP5 -> DA9 SP1, EV8SP5 -> DA9 SP1.
Each upgrade over a different weekend.

Sure will! Thanks!

Hi Rob - Would be usefuly if the document had versioning and a change log. How do we know what's changed otherwise?
12-09-2010 03:15 AM
Simon, that has been discussed. At the moment the plan is for circulation of the changes to each revision to happen to RPM's, and TPM's internally, and see how that goes. No current plans to extend that out to be included in the document itself.

I'll raise with our BCAM then - Repeated document updates and releases are of lesser benefit with no versioning or change log.

Hi Simon
I agree in part - and yes go through your BCAM.
Some people like it the way that it is.. as a reference document as it were. I think you're looking at it from a different perspective, ie changes over time.
Hope that helps,

How about two documents.
The current one, and a TECHNOTE which describes the changes over time?
Best from both worlds.... ;)
Cheers

I've passed on the suggestion.. no promises :)

It also seems that the old FTP Address is now outdated and does not get updated anymore:
ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/Exchange_Mailbox_Archiving_Unit/276547.pdf
(August 27)
New location is:
So it would be good to either:
- Replace that document with the new one
- Replace that document with a Link to the new one
- Replace all links to that document with the new location
Otherwise, users will look at old compatibility guides, which is probably not-so-good... ;)
Cheers

Hi Rob
Does this mean that all Domino Target Server versions are supported as long the mail template is in the compatibility list.
Specifically, we are upgrading our target servers from Domino 8.5.1(32bit) to Domino 8.5.2(32bit)using EV 8.0 SP4. Is this supported and is this documented anywhere?
Thanks

I'll chase that up (again)
02-03-2011 12:41 AM
Take a look at page 63, 8.5.1+ is not showing as supported with EV 8.

This guide only shows Gateway servers and Mail template versions, I need to know what the Domino Target servers are supported. Is there anywhere that specifies Target server requirements
02-04-2011 12:25 AM
I will try to find out.

Hi all,
New Guide - Dated 9th March 2011, just landed.
Check it out.
Hope you all find it useful.
03-14-2011 04:24 AM
What's changed?
03-14-2011 04:32 AM
Simon, it's best to questions on that thread directly -- however, I can sort of answer the question "here". The details of the changes aren't something that will be disclosed.. but at high level, the new guide includes some changes to simplify the layout, a few corrections, a nice clients section, some changes for migration to NBU, some new storage certification, and server virtualisation. There is actually quite a long list.
