Hi there,

Have you verified if the archive points got created after enabling the new folders/shares? This must be created in order for the archiving to start.

Virgil ... is it absolutely necessary to create a Archive Point to start to archiving? That is, if we have a filesystem in which we only want to archive but we are not interested in doing searches, is it necessary to create the Archive Point?

Thanks and regards.

Hi mate,

Archived files are logically stored in archive points (=archives, similar to Exchange archives). If there is an archive point for a parent folder created previously, there is no need to create another archive point when enabling a new folder underneath that folder. Else, an archive point must be created for archiving to work.

You can validate that the folder has a archive point by going to the console and then right-click on the Volume target and choosing Archive Points. You should be able to see that the folders have a vault icon on them, indicating an archive point.  If the target folder does not have the icon, or is not under a folder with an icon, then it will not get archived.   You can remove and recreate the folder choosing the option to create an archive point.
