Number of "active" archives is wrong in sumamry report

The summary report generated by EV lists the number of "active" archives as 8038, but that is the number of all archives in my vault, current plus ex-employees. I only really have about 2500 "active" archives. Why does EV consider all my archives to be active?

I am using EV 10.0.3 for Exchange.

Based on this technote: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH35741 It defines an "Active Archive" as Active Archives : The number of archives in the vault store that contain archived items So empty archives do not get counted apparantly

I assumed "active" meant the archive was associated with a mailbox. I have about 5500 archives that belong to ex-employees or shared mailboxes that have since been deleted.
